Expanding Our Global Network to Serve You Better

Our Vision

At Chun Wah Metal Trading Company, we envision a world where no scrap is wasted — where every discarded piece of metal finds new life through innovation, responsibility, and purpose. With cutting-edge machinery, deep industry knowledge, and a firm commitment to environmental standards, we transform industrial byproducts into resources that power tomorrow’s cities, technologies, and communities.

Driven by the belief that recycling is not just a service, but a duty to our planet, we are forging a cleaner, more sustainable future — one load of scrap at a time. For us, every spark of metal reclaimed is a step toward a greener legacy for the next generation.

Giant Transformer Project

One of our most challenging projects involved dismantling a large transformer from St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited. The main difficulty lay in safely transferring the transformer, handling the hazardous oil, separating different metals, and ensuring all materials were processed in an environmentally responsible manner.

Our team began by carefully extracting and containing the oil, which was then sent to a licensed treatment facility for proper re-finery. An oxygen cutting equipment was selected to efficiently open the stainless steel casing to access the inner copper coils. These coils, previously soaked in oil, were further processed to remove residual oil before recycling. The entire project completed in one week, showcasing our ability to deliver professional, eco-conscious, and efficient solutions, even for the most complex jobs.

Telecom Cable Tender

Another example of our hands-on expertise was a large-scale project handling telecommunication cable scrap from TSTT. The scrap included a mixture of cable types—some reinforced with stainless steel, others wrapped in large wooden reels, and many encased in plastic or rubber insulation. The complexity lay in identifying, separating, and recovering valuable materials without creating unnecessary waste.

We began by systematically dismantling the cables, separating wood, stainless steel, and plastics, all of which were sent to local processing partners for reuse. The remaining cable cores were then processed with our dedicated wire-stripping machines to extract copper and aluminum with precision. In total, we recovered over 40% of base metals from the overall scrap weight—demonstrating not just our efficiency, but our commitment to sustainable recycling and value extraction.
